Depending on the method of planting – two-row or four-row in 500 m2, 20 000 to 40 000 bulbs can be planted. The cost of the investment also depends on the number of bulbs. The bigger the number is, the lower their price per unit is. The yield varies depending on the size of the bulbs. Revenues are calculated on the basis of a sales price per kilogram of dry saffron – 10,000 BGN. The amount invested in the purchase of the bulbs returnes for a period of 2-3 years.
